How To Do The Swiss Alps

you guys Switzerland is incredible   we’ve spent a week in these mountains and there’s a million ways to do this whistle this is the way we did it and it worked really well so I’m gonna lay it out for you we’re situated in the Jungfrau region which is one of the most well known regions and this was out it’s made up of two valleys but there’s the lauterbrunnen valley and the Grindle valley we decided to explore mostly the lauterbrunnen valley because well first you’re gonna need a jungfrau path it was about 200 francs for a 4-day pass and that gets you access to most of the trains cable cars and funiculars and those really add up so I promise it’s worth it we saved in a little village called vengan there are tons of places to stay in the valley but this was really charming and it was mostly a Carles town which we found to be like gold when traveling with kids from here we caught the local cable car up the wall of the mountain that separates the two valleys and on top there was a ridiculous playground a cafeteria that served really good coffee and just ready-made food then we’ve traveled a lot of places but this stands to be the wildest children’s park I’ve ever seen in my life there’s in the ground trampolines a cow that you slide out of its mouth quiet nights we hope the views were unreal and everyone including the kitchen lifted from here we caught the cable car down on the other side of the wall and caught a bus into Grendel home oh the steak is a small town it’s perfect for just strolling through and grabbing a few bits to snack on we decided to kind of pack up for a picnic so we went into a bakery the local co-op and grabbed all sorts of bread and cheese and chocolate – hafiz something so let’s talk about food for a second most of the places that I travel to I travel for food and most of the time I spend there I spend eating and talking about eating and planning to eat and Switzerland while the food is good it’s not the main reason you come here the hikes the nature the views that’s why you cut also it’s really freaking expensive it’s really expensive so one of the ways we found to cut costs is to get most of our food if not all of our food at the local grocery store and to make food back at our Airbnb or just to do really casual easy picnics with salami cheese bread the whole thing speaking of picnics we decided to finish the day of taking another cable car up from Grindelwald up to fierce and this was an insane viewpoint with these catwalks or suspended walkways where it feels like you where you can see everything beneath you if you’re feeling extra brave you can go down the entire mountainside in a go-cart I don’t think they let two-year-olds do that though so route if you’re a troll I’m joking I wouldn’t take my two-year-old down on a go-kart to get home instead of taking the cable car back which closes pretty early around 4:30 we decided to take a train around the mountain pass back to ving and Wow it was so   let’s go to   the more trains the better say it with me the more trains the better I’m not you’re the only person here if you don’t think about Internet I’m not going to say it better no we took a short train down to lauterbrunnen and then took a cable car up the other side of the valley – like a little summit or base camp called vinter egg or winter egg Ventura though it’s the right way Ventura the right way – it’s not actually or winter it’s truly just been dragged I didn’t mean that sorry yeah I’d never say winter again that’s super embarrassing what’s so cool about all these spots in the Swiss Alps is most of them have like really epic so the kids are happy and I’m happy because there’s cheese everyone’s happy in mountain so you can be like drinking your cappuccino and not even watching your kids the food itself we had like a beef stroganoff a salad that had some pickled vegetables and fresh vegetables as well and a potato soup and a famous Swiss dish which is called roasty which is like hashbrowns what we call hashbrowns with cheese on top or bacon you can get all sorts of topics you can do it however you like okay it’s just row statement was good from there we walked three kilometers to a little town called Mirren it’s actually right there like literally right there and you guys I’m telling you this was like a highlight of the entire trip this walk is incredible it might be my favorite part yet you get like a gorgeous view you have the trains going by there’s benches to stop on the kids are doing great Henry’s only allowed to be held if he counts to 100 which is one of his kindergarten goals so for learning for drama walking on Mirren’s a little town you can walk through their shops there’s cafes there’s ice-cream there’s all the things that you could want including a playground [Applause] there we took a train to the cable car a cable car to the Train and we train from LA to brunnen to interlaken which is like the main city of all of this that connects all the different valleys okay okay do you get it there there’s a funicular that goes up to a peak and it’s one of the few things open late so it’s open till I think like 9:45 you can go down and it has a restaurant and then like lounge chairs where you can just like enjoy the sunset go at sunset there’s also a viewpoint the restaurant was fine it wasn’t anything special but the view may be everything tastes amazing after catching the funicular down to interlaken we just train back to vengan and fell asleep I don’t buy you know Johnny and I woke up early and we returned to murren where he convinced me to do this no you don’t need 12 creams I got something don’t happen on his own muscle there’s the sun is shining on me Oh easily one of the coolest things I’ve ever done and the best way to see the views here in the Swiss Alps is 170 francs each and kind of our chosen splurge for the trip I can’t recommend it enough we went with a company called air time and they were awesome all around not sponsored but you can if you want sponsor me pay me money after that we decided to meet up with the kids and we wanted to take a break from all of the mountains and explore the valley so we decided to bike there’s bike shops in most of the villages but lauterbrunnen is one of the more central ones so it’s gonna have a more extensive range but also is more likely to have things like trailers for kids we biked through that entire valley on ebikes which made it much easier because     there’s a sad cows on the way back to a lot of brunnen on the bikes Johnny decided to stop at this waterfall this waterfall you access via funicular and it takes you through a cave and Henry was in heaven because he thought it was straight out of Moana the electric bikes for a half day or four hours were 40 francs each and they were worth every single penny you get to see so much in such a short amount of time that you wouldn’t be able to do on foot after that we return to our bikes and stopped right next door at airtime cafe where we got hot chocolate with whipped cream because again I’m not dumb we then trained back to our Airbnb and again we went to sleep you don’t need to say that every time they probably just assumed me way to sleep no they just don’t you just say that we went to sleep every single for a wholesome crowd okay everyone has to go to sleep at some point no day for Henry woke up and he asked for a little day he said he doesn’t want a big day and he didn’t want a medium day he wanted a little day where you say him to Jim so we did that and Johnny got up early and rented an electric bike for this beginning half of the day and he went straight up the mountain and down the mountain and he had a pretty good time yeah I really did check out my footage sorry I’m an insert oh no mm-hmm cool Phil’s coming soon it’s coming lots of drone stuff some of my best work ever question for the man who wrote revelation I don’t buy it no this thing to try you know so we took a train up to kleine scheidegg which is where you’ll see the gorgeous red trains now most people think that these red trains are only accessible if you pay the 100 and hold on 170 francs per person to go up to the top of Europe which is the viewing platform of the peaks of the surrounding distance this isn’t covered in your jungfrau pass but you’re gone for all pass does get you 25% off of that we decided not to do it viewing platforms aren’t really our thing and we wanted to allocate our funds elsewhere like parasailing and biking but you can still get on these red trains the Jungfrau gone trains and you take it up one stop and that stop is where they’ll continue through the tunnel up to the top of Europe you can get off and hike all the way down it’s about three kilometers it is so beautiful and you get a full view of the glaciers you’re in the shadow of these big mountains I mean I you can’t find it dating with I can’t shine if you really want to do it right a picnic and stop at the reservoir on your way down to the train station it’s crystal clear blue water I can’t even count them all so it’s completely empty because most of the people are at the top of here okay now we’re on to day five six seven and if your passes expired no worries there is so much to do in this region like so much like it’s overwhelming like you worry I’m gonna say everything is I’m gonna leave disappointed or someone I’m gonna come back and say did you do this unless like no and then what are they gonna do no one cares what you saw okay just go onto day five but seriously there’s so much to do each village has bike rentals and hiking and little public offerings like ping pong tables and playgrounds there’s really so much to keep you busy plus the views and this is the way that we did it there’s so many ways to do this myself and make sure to leave a comment if you have a different tip on how to do it I’m sure everyone would be appreciative and we’re definitely gonna go back so we’d love to hear from you bye   but you should almost always hike to so if you’re a big hiker you can take the train up and hike down you can hike up and trick take the train down you can do it however you like the Swiss Alps are for anyone whatever you want to do it’ll just do it tonight then do it mom come on don’t ever stop super weird
